Draupadi ka Danda refers to an incident from the Hindu epic Mahabharata where Draupadi, the wife of the five Pandavas, was insulted and humiliated in the court of Hastinapur by the Kauravas. The incident took place during a game of dice where Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas, lost all his wealth, kingdom, and even his brothers and Draupadi in the gamble to Duryodhana, the eldest Kaurava.
Duryodhana, along with his brothers and uncle Shakuni, then attempted to disrobe Draupadi in front of the entire court. Draupadi prayed to Lord Krishna and he came to her rescue by making the cloth endless so that Duryodhana could not disrobe her. However, the humiliation continued with many Kauravas and even some elders of the court insulting her.
In response, Draupadi vowed to tie her hair only when she had washed it with the blood of the Kauravas who were responsible for her humiliation. This led to the Kurukshetra war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, which lasted for 18 days and resulted in the victory of the Pandavas. Draupadi's vow was fulfilled when Bhima, one of the Pandavas, killed Duryodhana by hitting him on the thigh, the same spot where Draupadi was humiliated.
